Our Story
On June 17, 2025, Dany suffered a sudden cardiac arrest in which he was without oxygen for eight minutes. This caused severe brain damage that is irreversible - anoxic brain injury. The doctors have told us there's nothing more they can do medically.
Dany is now in hospice care. It's heartbreaking to know that the man, my best friend, I've been with for 27 years, and who has been the most incredible father to our 4-year-old daughter, won't be coming home with us. We're trying to make the most of the time we have left together by being by his side.
This isn't the story we thought we'd be telling, and honestly, some days I don't know how we're getting through it. But we've been leaning on God this entire time, and we want His will to be done. We've put Dany into His hands, trusting in His plan even when we can't understand it.
We're taking it one day at a time, focusing on being with him and supporting each other through this impossible situation, while also dealing with all the overwhelming challenges that come with something like this.
If you knew Dany, you know he always had a smile on his face, loved helping others, gave the best hugs, and was the most charismatic, loving man. He was an entrepreneur since childhood, passionate about starting and running his own business.
Dany loved playing volleyball, was a true meat lover who enjoyed great steak and sushi. But more than anything, he was someone you could always rely on—he would bend over backwards to help anyone in need.
Above all, he was an amazing husband and father. We met 27 years ago when I was trying out for the girls’ volleyball team and he was on the men's team (I was 15 and he was 19), and the rest is history. We became each other's best friends and were married for 21 years.
His 4-year-old daughter was his whole world—his pride and joy. He loved spending time with her playing video games, taking her on vacations, to the zoo, and to theme parks. His life has been a true reflection of love, laughter, and selflessness.
